The Pythias Building originally housed McCallister’s Barber Shop on the first floor, which then became McCallister’s Undertaking. Eventually McCallister became a full-time mortician and the first Washington County Coroner (See Site 55). The Knights of Pythias met on the second floor. Next to the Knights of Pythias meeting room was a brothel. This building has decorative brickwork on the cornice. The second-story windows have continuous arched lintels and limestone sills. Built circa 1909.
