Jesse L. Overlees established the Cherokee Lumber Company in Bartlesville in 1897 on the southwest corner of Frank Phillips Blvd. and Cherokee Avenue. Later, he purchased the Chastain-Toalson Lumber Company at the opposite southeast corner of Frank Phillips Blvd. and Cherokee Avenue, which became Overlees-Woods Lumber Company. Today a Pizza Hut occupies the site.
