Robert S. Bradley and “Sunny” Jim Bryant completed one of the first brick business buildings in Bartlesville. After the Vitrified Brick Company of Bartlesville went into production in September 1903, most of the buildings erected in the business district were elaborate brick buildings, instead of the false-front, wooden structures with porches held up by oak posts. The Bradley & Bryant is an example of the Romanesque style with ornamental brick detailing. There are arched windows on the second story and a brick cornice with stylized arches and dentils at the roofline. The building housed the Mendell Hardware Company from 1907 to 1912, handling “everything in hardware”. The First Spiritualist Church occupied the second floor. The building was known also as the Opera House, providing a meeting room with a small stage on the second floor, surrounded by offices on the street sides. Built circa 1903.
