Pawn Shop Building
119 - 125 SW Second Street
This two-story building housed the Bartlesville Chattel Loan Company (a pawn shop), ABC Loan, Parker Pawn Shop, Goldman’s Pawn Shop and, until 1993, Sharp’s Pawn Shop. The upper level was a house of prostitution, reportedly furnished with impeccable antiques. Other tenants in this building have included the Model Laundry, where Byron Smith operated a “clean, inviting, modern plant”, and the Cherokee Electrical Supply Company. The second-floor stepped parapet displays brick dentils with a unique diamond pattern at the roofline. Built in 1907.
