Harold C. Price, Sr. opened his Electra Welding Shop at this location, where he perfected the technique of electric welding pipe. The business became very successful, and the H. C. Price Pipeline Company became one of the world’s largest pipeline contractors during World War II. In 1956, the business was moved to the newly constructed Price Tower, which Harold Price had commissioned Frank Lloyd Wright to design (see Site 65). The building has a stepped parapet with brick dentils accenting the roofline and brick quoins along the second story. Sills and lintels are of limestone. Built in 1921.
