The Buford and Son Building was built in 1910. The first floor of the building has been used as a hotel lobby, various offices, and retail spaces. The second floor housed a 50-room hotel until 1971, including the Antlers Hotel, the Congress Hotel, and the Hinkle Hotel. The cartouche is inscribed “Buford & Son, 1910”. The upper windows have accented brick lintels with large keystones and sills. The original cornice is missing. The building front has two cast iron columns typical of the cast iron front building era. This is one of the two existing downtown buildings that have any cast iron work. The columns do not have any foundry identification.
