The buildings along the 100-block of SE 2nd Street housed a number of professional and oil company-related offices, as well as retail and service stores – one of which was the Frick-Reid Oil Supply. On February 17, 1905, Frick-Reid purchased the building, which formerly was Baum Mercantile Company, at 109 SE 2nd Street for a total of $4,000. The firm ordered construction of a new brick building, razing the former wooden structure. It later became Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation Supply Division’s Bartlesville Store. Their customers were all from the oil companies. The site is now a parking lot.
